May Favourites!

Hey guys! It's Mari!
Sorry this post is a little bit late in going up but I've been very busy recently so please forgive me! It's that time again where I tell you what products I have been loving, and this month I'm also going to include products that I have NOT been loving because there are a few more than usual...

Firstly, if you look at our blog regularly you may have guessed that my first favourite is MACs RiRi Woo lipstick. I did a blog post all about it so I'm not going into too much detail, but it's Rihanna's first product from her collaboration with MAC and it's a lovely true blue-toned red lipstick. It retails at £14 and although it is sold out just now it will be available to purchase sometime in June so keep trying!

Next I have No7's Beautiful Skin Cleansing Water for normal/oily skin. I LOVE this product! I use it every night after cleansing. I know you are supposed to use this product for cleansing but I just prefer using it after because you leave the water on your face and I don't believe that it can fully break down makeup with just leaving it on your face. I don't know, to each their own right? But I put a few sprays on a cotton pad and wipe it over my face. It's really refreshing and takes off the remaining makeup after cleansing. It is now my new favourite in my skin care routine. It doesn't break me out and it contains benefits for your skin. It retails for £9 in boots, but they always give away £5 No7 vouchers, so that means it's only £4! There is also a cleansing water for normal/dry skin so everybody can benefit!

Another product that I've been loving this month is Benefit's Posietint. It's a gorgeous poppy-pink cheek and lip stain. I personally prefer using it on my cheeks but it gives lips a subtle pink sheen which also looks nice. I enjoy using this product and think it will be fantastic for summer! It retails for £24.50 and can be found at any store selling Benefit Cosmetics.

The last product that I have been loving it the Maybelline the Rocket Mascara. This is the best drugstore mascara that I have used and I will definitely be repurchasing! It makes your lashes look dramatic, which I love, but if you prefer the more natural look you may not like this. It retails between £6-£7 depending on which store you purchase it from.

Now for the products that aren't as good....

I was debating with myself whether to put this in my favourites or not, so this is a product that I like but don't love. I was expecting more but it is still quite good. Does that make sense? It is the No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation. It says that it stays matte for 14 hours and is long wearing. Well, this foundation is not matte. Once applied, it looks semi-matte but it isn't what I would describe as a matte foundation. It doesn't mattify over time so if you are looking for a matte foundation, this isn't it. Having said that, it is a really nice medium coverage foundation that is long lasting and actually helps clear breakouts. I wore this for the majority of May, and I don't have super oily skin, but I still found that I had to powder my face half way through the day. If you have really oily skin you will not like this foundation. It retails at £12.95 at Boots. I still wear this foundation, but I feel like this would be  a better foundation for Winter, when my skin is dryer.

Next product that I tried and didn't like was the Garnier PureActive Intensive Charcoal Scrub. I did NOT like this product, which surprised me as my friend, who also has oily skin, told me this was her holy grail scrub! I used this maybe 4 times and realised my skin became really dry and I had breakouts. This scrub just did not agree with my skin. It's funny how one product can be someone's best friend and someone else's worst enemy, isn't it? Anyway I will not repurchase this, and I'm left with a nearly full tub of it sitting in my bathroom. This retails for £4.99.

The last product that I have not been loving is the Simple Moisturising Facial Wash. I must admit I bought this a while ago, but since we each have a turn of doing a favourites/non favourites I had to wait till it was my turn again to speak about this. I used this once on my skin and I must have had an allergic reaction to it because my skin broke out so badly that I had to go to the doctors because I thought there was something really wrong with me! Turns out it was this product. It's interesting because I know someone else who had a really bad breakout from using a Simple product, and they say they have no harsh chemicals and are kind to skin? This retails for £3.95

Mac RiRi Woo review!

Hey everyone! So if you are as obsessed with M.A.C, or Rihanna or both (like me) you will know that Rihanna released her very own M.A.C lipstick last week! It sold out in record time (3 hours) so if you were able to get this lipstick, then consider yourself lucky!

I received my RiRi Woo this morning and I was not disappointed. RiRi Woo is very much based on Ruby Woo - Rihanna's favourite lipstick. Whilst others complain that it is too similar to Ruby Woo, I personally can see that RiRi Woo is a deeper, more blue-toned red than it's sister Ruby. I cannot give you a swatch of the comparison, as I do not own Ruby Woo, but I will show you RiRi Woo.

As you can tell it is a deep red that has a retro matte finish and the shade was chosen to compliment universal skintones. It has blue-undertones which make teeth look much whiter, which is always a plus! Wear time is around 6 hours with this lipstick. It can be drying, I have heard other people saying that lip balm is a must if you want to wear this lipstick but I have not had a problem with dryness. I have heard it is not as drying as Ruby Woo, and is more pigmented.
The packaging is the same as any other M.A.C lipstick, and instead of having her signature on the tube of the lipstick (like Viva Glam lipsticks) she has put it on the lipstick itself!

Other people have said that it was not worth the money for this lipstick if you have Ruby Woo. I can agree that unless you are a die hard Rihanna fan and do not own Ruby Woo (both apply to me) you do not need this lipstick. I personally enjoy having it as it is seems like a collectors item and I love the colour. If you weren't able to get this lipstick M.A.C are selling them again in June for £14. It is an online exclusive to you do need to pay for postage. Will I be repurchasing in June? I think so. I do love this lipstick and from what I've heard it isn't as drying as Ruby Woo. I would rather have this lipstick then Ruby Woo as it is special with Rihanna's signature on it and it is the same price.

Overall I would rate this lipstick 8/10. I wish it was more of a unique colour, but I do love a classic red lip!

I look forward to seeing what else Rihanna has in her RiRi Hearts M.A.C collection!

April Favorites 2013!

Hello Everyone!

It's time for Rona's April Favorites! There have been so many beauty and non beauty favorites that I have been loving throughout the month of April! So lets just get on in to it!

Beauty Faves

First of all, I have been obsessed with the Rimmel salon pro nail polishes. My favorite shade has been Ultra Violet. It is the most perfect lilac-purple colour and I find it an amazing colour for spring. Also, the polish claims that it lasts up to 10 days, with it's gel formula. I have to agree that the polish lasts very long on the nails, with very minimum chipping. I can confidently say that the polish lasted a week on my nails still looking like they have been freshly painted. I also wanted to mention the PRICE! These nail polishes are ridiculously cheap at £4.50 at Boots. I seriously recommend these nail polishes and will definitely be picking up more colours.

The next favorite I have I want to mention that I have had since Christmas. However, I find this to now be my holy grail product and I just have to mention it. It is, of course, the Benefit They're Real mascara. There have been so much rave about this product and I just feel that I need to talk about it. I have to start off by saying that I have such a problem with my lashes. They are so short and this mascara literally looks like I have false lashes on, which I love. I have never used a mascara that makes my lashes look so long, and trust me, I have tried many. I was a bit skeptical about the plastic brush at the start, but I've found the brush to be amazing and separates my lashes well. I also LOVE the packaging, which is a big bonus. The mascara is £19.50 at any Benefit counter - a bit pricey, but definitely worth it!

Also by Benefit, I have been loving the Hello Flawless Oxygen wow foundation. I bought this at the end of March and I have been wearing it every day ever since! Benefit claims this is brightening makeup and I completely agree! My skin has been glowing when I wear it! This is a light-medium It also has spf 25, which is great for protecting your skin. I find this to be absolutely perfect for my dry skin type. However,I have to be honest and say that this foundation may not be for everyone. Mari has oily skin and wanted to try it out on herself to see what it was like, and said that it became very patchy and slid off her face. I find this to be very hydrating for my skin and therefore I recommend this foundation to people that have dry-normal skin. This foundation is £25.50 (I use shade Ivory - Believe in me in case you're interested!)
Last beauty favorite! It is Speed Dial by MAC. I absolutely LOVE this lipstick! It is such a wearable
pink that I believe will suit all skin tones. It is a cremesheen finish, which is my favorite finish from MAC as it is so hydrating on the lips. I have an obsession for pink lipsticks, so Speed Dial is a great addition to my collection. I have been wearing it non stop during April and it is just such an amazing product. I am just in love with it. You can find this lipstick at any MAC store or counter and is £14.

Non-Beauty Faves!

In case anyone didn't know, I am such a coffee addict. I have been going to Starbucks way too many times during April. And there has been one drink I have just been addicted to. This is a 2-in-1 favorite as there are two variations of this drink and I love them both equally. It is the Caramel Macchiato. I discovered this drink just after Christmas when Starbucks ended the seasonal favorites and stopped the Gingerbread latte (which I loved so much I bought two gingerbread syrups so I can continue to enjoy this drink). I tried the Caramel Macchiato and just instantly fell in love and has been my Starbucks drink of choice.

However, during the month of April I tried the iced version of the Caramel Macchiato, and I honestly can't decide what version I prefer. The iced is definitely more refreshing now that the weather (hopefully) will be getting warmer. If you like frappacino's then I think you will really enjoy this!

I think thats it for my April Favorites! I hope you enjoyed this blog post and will be posting soon! If you're interested in these products I will list the links below! I hope everyone has an amazing May! :)

Hannah's March Favourites 2013! ❤

Hi everyone!

I saw that Mari had posted a February Favourites last month and it inspired me to post a March Favourites!

Firstly, I have a facemask. It's the Freeman Feeling Beautiful Facial Anti-Stress Mask.

(image from Google Images)

I had to buy this product on eBay as no UK drugstores sell it and American drugstores don't ship to the UK. The P&P was expensive. The product is orignally $3.99, but I paid a little over £13.

I applied the mask and left it on my skin for about 10 minutes. I then gently rinsed it off with warm water. Immediately after removing the mask I could already see and feel a noticeable difference in my skin. I have really bad acne on my face, and this helped a lot. It got rid of all my bumps and regular pimples.
I am so happy I bought this product. It smells amazing, and it does wonders for your skin. I have used it about 4 times this month and it's definitely a favourite! I would highly recommend this product and I will definitely be repurchasing it when I run out.

The next product I have is the Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil.

My lips have been really dry and chapped recently, due to the cold, miserable weather we've had here in the UK. I had run out of my Nivea A Kiss of Milk and Honey Lip Balm (which I wasn't too impressed with, but I loved the flavour) at the start of the month, so I needed a new one. I found this in Boots, and the pomegranate flavour really appealed to me.

The price was really cheap, and I love this lip balm. It's the best lip balm I've ever tried, and I will definitely be repurchasing it, unless I find an even better one!

Next, I have a couple nail polishes!

I have always wanted to try China Glaze nail polishes, but I've just never got around to buying any. I finally did, and decided to go for 872 Pool Party.

(image from Google Images)

This colour is amazing! It is my new favourite nail polish! I'm so happy I bought it, especially since Spring and Summer are upon us! It'll look great somewhere warm and sunny with a tan! It is the perfect neon pink, and I am obsessed with neon pink this year! This is the colour I've painted my nails this month, whenever I took the time out of my studying to paint them. It lasted really well and has an amazing shine too.

The next is a polish from Revlon. It isn't exactly a polish, it's more nail care. It's the Revlon Calcium Gel Nail Hardener.

(image from Google Images)

This product is a lifesaver. I can't rave about it enough. It's a milky consistency, so if you wear it on it's own (without a colour polish on top), it makes your nails look really healthy. It has got rid of staining on my nails within a week, it has strengthened them drastically. I also have a lot of "trauma lines" on my nails, and this got rid of them really quickly! It's just an amazing product, and I've wore it everyday this month to try and get my nails healthy.

Now on to more make-up related products.
This month, I have been loving the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation and powder.

My foundation is in the shade 130 Shell and my powder is in the shade 020 Light Pale. This range is amazing! It doesn't feel like you're wearing any makeup at all. The foundation has medium coverage and blends really nicely. I have really oily skin, and the powder helps control it. I don't need to reapply the foundation or the powder throughout the day, which I appreciate.

I also have two MAC lipsticks!
The first is Morange.

This is an Amplified Creme lipstick in a beautiful orange shade with red undertones. MAC describe is as a "loudmouth orange". I think it really suits my skintone and I love orange lipsticks, I just don't often get the chance to wear them that often. I wore this lipstick when I went to see The Script in concert as I thought it would be a perfect opportunity. Since then, I've just been wearing it about the house so I can feel more comfortable in it, because it is a really bold colour.

The same applies to my next MAC lipstcik, Candy Yum-Yum.

There is no other way to describe this lipstick other than a neon pink. It's a matte liptsick, so it lasts a really long time. It even lasts through drinking and eating. I feel I can get a lot more wear out this lipstick as it is very buildable so you can wear it as vibrant and pigmented as you would like!

The next product is the Naked Basics palette.

I am obsessed with this product. Mari and Rona bought me this for my birthday, and I couldn't be more grateful. I wear shades from this palette everyday and it is a great palette to throw in your handbag or take away on holiday with you. All the shades are matte, apart from the very first lightest shade which is a satin finish. I use this as my highlight. I've also hit pan on Foxy, which is the second colour in the palette and is a colour which is also in the Naked 2, and I use this as my all over base. There is even a colour in this palette for filling in your eyebrows too! It's just an amazing, handy palette and it has been my lifesaver this month!

That's it for my favourites! Make sure to check back next month for Rona's favourites, and other blog posts we have up this month!
Thanks for reading!

xoxo,
Hannah

February Favourites - Mari

Hey everyone! If anyone checks this blog regularly you will notice that it doesn't get updated very often and most of the posts get deleted. We're still trying to work out the best arrangements for running the best blog that we possibly can. So thank you  if you do check back here to see our blog!

Now to the real purpose of this post - February Favourites!

February just flew in for me, I cannot believe it is March! Throughout this month I have fallen in love with some beauty products that I have purchased.

First of all I have to begin with MAC's latest additions to the Viva Glam Family. It is, of course, Viva Glam Nicki 2! I already have the Viva Glam Nicki (1) lipstick and lipglass and it was definetly my colour of 2012. I wore it everywhere and was completely obsessed with it, so when I heard that Nicki Minaj was releasing another lipstick and lipglass I was really excited! When MAC released the promo poster for it, admittedly I was taken aback. The colour was a grey-ish lilac-y colour that  I wasn't too fond of. Anyway, when it was released I had to get both the lipstick and the lipglass - thank you Hannah who was able to purchase it before it was released here - and it was a pastel pink lavender. Long story short  I am obsessed once more with Nicki's bold colour choice!

Viva Glam Nicki 2 Lipstick - £14
Viva Glam Nicki 2 Lipglass - £13.50

Next, I have been loving yet another MAC lipstick. What can I say? MAC does everything right when it comes to their lipsticks, and the most recent in my collection is Lady Danger. Lady Danger, unlike other reds, has a unique orange undertone that makes it a bold colour that stands out! It isn't as orange as Morange, it is much more red. It is a matte finish (although it has a slight shine to it so I personally wouldn't call it matte) but doesn't dry out my lips at all - definetly a plus!

Lady Danger - £14

Moving away from lipsticks and on to brows now! Last month I had my eyebrows shaped at Benefits Brow Bar and my brows looked amazing! It only cost £11 for them to be shaped and waxed and it was well worth the money! To keep them looking good though, I purchased Benefit's "Browzings" in light and it is by far the best brow product that I have ever used (and being very light blonde I have used many brow products to make them look more of a darker natural colour and not just white/blonde). I use it everyday and I will repurchase it for sure!

Benefit Browzing's - £22.50

Last I have 2 nail polishes from the Mariah Carey collection from OPI. I purchased the colours "Stay The Night" which is one of the liquid sand polishes and when on the nails can only be described as looking like molten lava, and "Sprung" a golden-y bronze glitter polish with flecks of purple and green micro glitter . It's such a beautiful polish.

OPI Stay the Night - £11

OPI Sprung - £11
